Cuvée presentation

A 1978 Aberfeldy bottled in 1994 by Signatory Vintage for the Dun Eideann range. This is a blend of two casks, #7795 to #7796. Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington, who previously worked at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, where he would select casks specially for the hotel. In 2002, he bought the Edradour distillery in Pitlochry, in the Highlands of Scotland and moved Signatory Vintage vintage to the site, including the warehouses opposite the distillery. The Dun Eidann range (Gaelic for Edinburgh) enabled Andrew Symington to sell to different distributors in the same country, such as La Maison du Whisky, which distributed Signatory Vintage, and Auxil, which distributed Dun Eidann in France, and Velier and Donato in Italy. A limited edition of 600 bottles.

The distillery Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy was built in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons, the famous company founded by John Dewar, a wine merchant who became a successful blender in the mid-19th century. The logical next step following this success was to begin creating Aberfeldy, which quickly became a key ingredient in the house blend. Dewar’s joined Distillers Company Limited in 1925 and remained part of the group until 1998 when Diageo sold it to Bacardi. The next year, the new owners gave Aberfeldy—whose production had until then been used primarily for the Dewar’s blend—its own brand of single malts, beginning with the launch of a 12 year old.
