Cuvée presentation

Plantation unveils an incredible Jamaican rum from the prestigious Clarendon distillery distilled in 1995 and bottled in a single-edition Jeroboam specially for the event.
The pinnacle of rarity, this version whose ester rate (511 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol) corresponds to the iconic MMW mark (Monymusk Wedderburn) reveals an intense and rich profile of flavours and aromas (1,199 g of volatile substances) that will delight connoisseurs’’ taste buds. After 24 years’’ ageing in bourbon casks in the tropical climate of Jamaica, this exceptional rum was finished for four years in small cognac casks in Charente, under the watchful eye of Maison Ferrand’’s cellar master Alexandre Gabriel.
A vintage that embodies Jamaica’’s rich terroir, offering explosive aromas of tropical fruits and abundant esters, paired with Maison Ferrand’’s unique ageing expertise.

The distillery La Barge 166 par Maison Ferrand

Maison Ferrand has been a family-owned producer of fine spirits since 1989. Its internationally acclaimed brands today include Ferrand cognac, Citadelle French gin and Plantation rum. The house has always been meticulous in the attention it pays to ageing, which is today an integral part of its decades-old expertise. Barge 166, the first ever floating cellar designed and created by Maison Ferrand, is the only location in the world where this type of ageing can be carried out, on the banks of the Seine in Issy-les-Moulineaux, just a stone’’s throw from Paris. In this new adventure, Maison Ferrand is offering the chance for bidders to become the owners of casks of Ferrand cognac and Plantation rum which will be aged on the barge for several months. It is a unique invitation to join Barge 166’’s crew of Private Cask Owners for the selection, finishing and bottling of bespoke 30-litre casks of spirits.
