Domain: Duquesne

In 1953, the Marraud des Grottes family - who were known for owning another distillery under the Duquesne brand - bought the Trois Rivières estate and marketed aged rums under the Duquesne name until 1972. The white and amber Duquesne rums are produced in one of the columns of the Trois Rivières distillery. A vat is reserved for their production and a distillation column is used specifically for this purpose. They employ a slightly different technique from the ones used to produce Trois Rivières rums, giving the Duquesne rum its unique character. In 2004, the production of the Trois Rivières distillery was relocated to the La Mauny distillery in Rivière-Pilote, owned by the B.B.S company who bought the Trois Rivières distillery and its two associated brands ten years earlier.
