Abhainn Dearg was founded in 2008 by Marko Tayburn in Red River on the Isle of Lewis. This is the first legal whisky to be produced locally in 150 years. Everything is done by hand, even the bottling. The stills were also made by the owner himself using an old illegal still discovered on the island.
