The Eden Mill distillery was originally created to complement a brewery opened in 2012 in Guardbridge. The production of whiskey, as well as gin, started in 2014 and the first single malt bottling came out in 2018. Since then, the owners have announced that the distillery will begin operation at a new site which will enable them to double production. The new distillery will be entirely powered by renewable energy - sourced from the University of St. Andrew - and is due to open in 2024 after delays due to the COVID pandemic.
