David Sherman Corporation was founded in 1958 by David Sherman Senior and Paul A. Lux. The pair made the most of United Distillers’ investments and Diageo’s divestments to acquire brands such as Ezra Brooks and Rebel Yell. The business was renamed Luxco in 2006 and for a time worked with the Heaven Hill distillery before deciding to open its own distillery, Lux Row, in 2018 in Kentucky.
