The R.L. Seale distillery has been a family business since 1926, with sugar cane plantations dating back to the 18th century. The company is now run by Richard Seale in a masterly fashion. It is committed to producing exceptional rums with the greatest respect for the soil and biodiversity, in complete transparency and without the use of chemicals. To create the brandy, the distiller must follow a very strict production process requiring patience and passion. Each production step is thus carefully studied. The essential ingredient of the recipe is the sugar cane, the juice of which will ferment to transform it into alcohol. The liquid is then distilled using a still. This stage produces a highly aromatic pure alcohol with a very high alcohol content. The brandy is then aged in wooden casks for several years to develop its delicious, flavoursome aromas.
