Price estimate statistics ----The Blairmont plantation, named after its founder Lambert Blair, was founded on the West Bank of the River Berbice in the early 19th century. The first trace of distillation at Blairmont date back to 1862. The distillery closed in 1962 and it is not known what happened to its two-column Savalle still. Production of Blairmont nonetheless continued at Uitvlugt, which reproduced the style of the defunct distillery using its four-column Savalle still. After Uitvlugt closed in 1999, Diamond took over. In 1974, the Guyanese government nationalized the country’‘s distilleries, which become the property of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL). Guyana’‘s last distilleries closed one after the other and only Diamond now remains. It is home to the famous wood stills of the former distilleries of Port Mourant, Versailles, Enmore and Uitvlugt.
