Cuvée presentation

A single cask (#13765) of Allt-a-Bhainne distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2010. Ian Macleod & Company Ltd was founded in 1933 by Leonard Russell Senior. The Russell family bought the company in 1963 and Peter Russell took over the management. Ian Macleod then bottled blends and independent bottlings including the famous Chieftain's, a range of single casks capitalising on the stocks amassed by Leonard Russell Senior since the creation of his brokerage company in 1936. The business became Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd in 2003 following the purchase of Glengoyne, then Tamdhu in 2011 and Rosebank in 2017. A limited edition of 558 bottles.

The distillery Allt-a-Bhainne

The Allt-a-Bhainne distillery was built by Seagram in Speyside in 1975. The distillery is fully computerized and designed to be operated by just one person, producing a light whisky for the group’‘s blends. It was bought by Pernod Ricard in 2001 and closed briefly in 2003 before reopening two years later. Unsurprisingly, few official editions of Allt-A-Bhainne exist. A handful of independent bottlings can nonetheless be found.
