Cuvée presentation

To celebrate the 20th edition of the Whisky Live Paris as well as the launch of the French edition of the Whisky Magazine in 2004, La Maison & Velier offers an exclusive collection of spirits from its cellars in magnum format. This wonderful series joins 40 unique and exciting bottlings of whiskies and rums selected from all four corners of the world, as well as a remarkable selection of French malts and spirits. Called the Fireworks Collection, this range is available for sale on the auction site Fine Spirits Auction (from 28/09/2024 to 04/10/2024). Each bottle, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, displays a unique label reinterpreting the famous fireworks illustrations created by the Japanese artist Hirayama in 1880.

Founded in 1823 in the north of Glasgow, Auchentoshan produces the most emblematic single malt in the Lowlands. The method of triple distillation, which is very rare in Scotland, paired with the high proof of the distillate, is used to produce a fine, subtle, smooth and elegant single malt with herbal and citrus notes. Aged in bourbon casks, this version reveals aromas of white-fleshed fruits, noble spices and wild flowers.

The distillery Auchentoshan

Scotland, Lowlands. Distillery operational. Owner: Beam - Suntory

The property of Stanley P Morrison (Morrison Bowmore) from 1984, Auchentoshan passed into the hands of the Japanese company Suntory when the latter bought Morrison Bowmore in 1994. Located in the Lowlands of Scotland, Auchentoshan practices triple distillation, which enables the fruity and floral character of its distillate to be revealed. A key component in the blends Islay Legend and Rob Roy, Auchentoshan made a name for itself in the 1990s with its 1965 and 1966 single casks, examples of a style long lost following the distillery's renovation in 1969. In 2007, it struck again and released two very rare 50 year old single casks distilled in 1957 (#479 and #480, with less than 200 decanters per cask), presented in superb decanters. These are the oldest vintages of Auchentoshan ever bottled.
